Win in reach for Wanneroo

North Coast Times - - SPORT -

WANNEROO needs a patient batting performance on day 2 against Midland-Guildford, chasing an attainable 215 in the WA Premier Cricket clash at Lilac Hill.

The Roos head into the deciding leg on 2-58 after import opener Max Holden was dismissed for 19 on debut and first drop Haydn Slodecki fell for a duck in the final 21 overs of the day.

Matt Spoors will resume on 28, joined by Jacob Johnston (9).

The hosts’ batsmen made multiple starts but none could go on to a big total, with number 8 Julian Crudeli producing what might prove to be a gamesaving 49. The Monkey Towners were floundering at 7-129 before he arrived at the crease.

Wanneroo’s Chris Quelch (334) and Mathew Dzodzos (3-36) were best with the ball.

The Roos risk falling to the bottom of the table should they lose.
