Northshore kids cut out for construction

North Coast Times - - NEWS -

ALKIMOS children became the masterminds and builders behind a cardboard community constructed at Northshore Christian Grammar School recently.

The cardboard minicity, part of Peet’s Build Your Community event, came to life with kids creating apartment buildings, a hospital with a helicopter pad and a bus.

Shorehaven’s Waterfront Park also made an appearance along with The Shore Cafe, the Alkimos Shipwreck and the oval located in The Rise precinct of the estate. Many children also constructed their own home.

School principal Stuart Chisholm said it was great to watch the Shorehaven community recreated by “our young leaders of tomorrow”.

“It was amazing to see the kids get so creative and really focus on this project,” he said.

“The kids really took ownership of their own community and homes and the final product looked just like Shorehaven, with the addition of a hospital and helicopter pad.”

Feniel and Parth Shah recreated their home out of cardboard near the oval in The Rise precinct.
