Future chapel expected to bring together Peter Moyes school and St Cecilia’s Parish communities.
ANGLICAN Archbishop of Perth Kay Goldsworthy visited Peter Moyes Anglican Community School this month to mark the start of a chapel’s construction.
The Mindarie school held a ‘blessing of the site’ on July 19. It was attended by Anglican Schools Commission chief executive Peter Laurence.
The chapel will accommodate up to 300 people and be a joint place of worship for the school and the parish covering Quinns Rocks to Butler.
“Our presence at the school chapel will strengthen the worship and the resources of the school will strengthen us,” St Celia’s Parish rector Paul Howells said.
School chaplain David Deeny said it would bring “fresh vibrancy” to the two worshipping communities.
Construction is expected to finish in time for 2019 Easter services.
