SUMMER has ended, however there are still beautiful blooms to be sighted in our local bushland. I took this image recently while cycling around Lake Joondalup. The beautiful purple fringed lily (thysanotus) along with a pretty yellow autumn lily (tricoryne) are flowering profusely. The magnificent orange and white blooms of the acorn banksia (banksia prionotes) are also in profusion, attracting many insects and up to seven different species of honeyeater.
