I MUST publicly call out the self-serving claim by Rob Johnson that a mainstream Christian church in Joondalup is a ‘religious sect’. Mr Johnson has political motives in making the claim. In 2013, he had no reservations in asking Christian MPs to cross-the-floor to vote for him as speaker as the Legislative Assembly.

When the local MPs refused his request to be disloyal to the Liberal Party, Mr Johnson began making these outrageous claims to discredit them.

The public is free to visit the church in question, and they will see it is a mainstream Christian church, attended by several prominent members of our community.

Christians should not sit back idly and accept such an outrageous slight on their faith. IAN GOODENOUGH, Moore MHR
