THE second Kaleidoscope Festival has been hailed “a resounding success” with more than 88,000 people visiting the Joondalup city centre over the four nights.

That compares to last year’s award-winning inaugural festival, which attracted about 55,000 people.

Mayor Albert Jacob congratulated “everyone involved in planning and delivering” the event that “clearly captured the imagination of people from around the Perth metropolitan area and beyond”.

He said this year’s program of “spectacular light installations, illuminations, projections and performances” was “taken to the next level under esteemed creative director Drew Anthony featuring 64 dynamic artists from WA and interstate”.

“Bringing significant events such as Kaleidoscope Festival to the Joondalup city centre stimulates the local business economy and provides entertainment and a vibrant night life for local residents and visitors,” he said.
