* LAMBEX is launching a national search for the most tender, flavor some and juiciest lamb in Australia as part of its national conference to be held in Adelaide in July.
Australia’s best lamb competition is open to lamb producers, processors, wholesalers and retailers, with entries open in six categories.
Entries close on Sunday, June 1 with judging conducted on Wednesday, July 9 at Regency TAFE in Adelaide.
Winners will be announced at the Australian Wool Industry GrandsLamb dinner at LambEx on Thursday, July 10.
The competition is supported by Elders, Australian Meat Industry Council and tafeSA.

* MURRAY Dairy is continuing its series of bi-monthly lunchtime research sessions on alternate pastures on Tuesday, July 8 at the Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI) in Tatura.
Beginning at 12 noon, the session features DEPI senior research scientist – dairy, Bill Wales, discussing research into feed conversion efficiency.

*GOTAFE is holding a one day workshop on Advanced Spray Application on Monday, August 4 at 9am to 4pm at Dookie College.
The course is designed for experienced agriculturists involved in chemical application and is particularly relevant for those managing employees using chemicals on farm.
The one day workshop plus worksite visit will cover monitoring and recording of weather, drift reduction strategies and technologies, how to recognise and avoid inversions, chemical label requirements, record keeping, PPE, OH&S, practical strategies for mixing and applying chemicals dye demonstration using a variety of nozzles and water rates.
The cost is $270 for eligible participants (do not hold a qualification at Cert IV or above) or $337.50 for in-eligible participants.

*THE Victorian Farmers Federation is calling on people to participate in this year’s Run 4 Farmer Health during the Melbourne Marathon on Sunday, October 12.
