McNair looks to national and international grain opportunities
EXPERIENCED grain supply chain expert Simon McNair has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of the Australian Grain Growers Co-operative (AGG Co-op).
The new appointment signifies the next phase of growth for the grower-owned co-op, which, after four years, is working to continually expand the national and international opportunities available for grower members.
Mr McNair said he is looking forward to taking up the role and working with growers and the coop’s team of staff and directors.
“I have worked in the grains industry for more than 30 years and seen and experienced many different grain marketing models,” he said.
“The Co-op mandate of delivering grain marketing services which not only meets the needs of grower-members but returns profits back clearly aligns with my values.
“I am really looking forward to further growing the business, ensuring it reaches its maximum potential both nationally and internationally,” Mr McNair said.
Mr McNair’s previous positions include principal at SJM & Associates, CEO at Australian Bulk Alliance, general manager of ABB Grain Ltd and chair of Grain Trust Pty Ltd and the Victorian Grain Logistics Task Force.
He takes over from Steve Mellington.
The AGG Co-op has been operating since 2009 and has achieved significant growth marketing grain for more than 2000 growers in Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
