World trade website launched
THE Federal Government has launched a new website highlighting Australia’s trading activities with other countries around the world.
‘Australia’s Trade at a Glance’ is an interactive website that gives key trading information about our imports, exports, trade by state and territories, with countries of the G20 and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation highlighted on the site.
According to Federal Member for Murray Sharman Stone, the website can focus on particular areas like Victoria, where the data shows that the main exporting items to China are livestock, crops, minerals and processed agriculture.
“This website shows Australia’s strong trading links with our G20 partners, who together, account for over 76 per cent of world trade and 86 per cent of global gross domestic product,” Dr Stone said.
“If you are interested in who Australia’s biggest trading partners are or what we export and import this website will be very helpful.”
