Wel­come Swal­low set for its 15th spring bull sale

A LINE up of 55 HBR and APR An­gus bulls dis­play­ing power, body ca­pac­ity, struc­tural sound­ness and great tem­per­a­ment will be up for sale at Wel­come Swal­low’s up­com­ing out­cross bull sale.

Ac­cord­ing to stud prin­ci­pal Suzy Martin the traits of the bulls up for sale com­bined with bal­anced high per­for­mance EBV’s for calv­ing ease, growth, fer­til­ity and car­case en­sure their client’s pur­chase a qual­ity an­i­mal.

Wel­come Swal­low was es­tab­lished in 1994 by Alec, Jim and Suzy Martin,

The stud’s herd now con­sists of 380 breed­ers run un­der com­mer­cial con­di­tions on ‘Il­lalangi’ - a 820 hectare graz­ing prop­erty 20 kilo­me­tres south east of Be­nalla, Vic­to­ria.

On of­fer at the stud’s 15th bull sale will be sons of Adrossan Equa­tor A241, Te Ma­nia Berkley, Elling­son Iden­tity, TC Aberdeen, Mo­hen Long Dis­tance, Mohnen Dy­na­mite and Booroomooka On Time.

“The Wel­come Swal­low pro­gram of­fers a com­pre­hen­sive qual­ity as­sur­ance pro­gram both pre and post sale,” Ms Martin said.

She added that all bulls must pass cer­tain cri­te­ria and vet checks be­fore be­ing deemed suit­able to be of­fered for sale.

“All sale bulls will be yarded for in­spec­tion on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 20 from 9am un­til 12 noon.

“And a de­li­cious beef lunch and re­fresh­ments will be avail­able on sale day.”

The stud’s sale will take place on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 10, 2014 at 1pm.
