North East & Goulburn Murray Farmer - - NEWS -

SAFETY should always be a number one priority on farms and in all work places which is why the National Safety Council of Australia Foundation, Safe Work Australia and RuralSafe have collaborated to release two new safety guides for the livestock and broadacre industries.

Published by Pro-Visual Publishing, the Broadacre Guide to Farm Safety 2015/16 and the Livestock Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2015/16 have been released to provide quick reference points for management and staff to inform, motivate, educate and to keep people and their workplaces safe.

The livestock safety guide has been released with augmented reality capabilities where by using a smart phone application, farmers working in the livestock industry can unlock hidden content and engage with the most upto-date safety information.

The broadacre safety guide aims to educate broadacre farmers by demonstrating various ways to promote safe work practices on farms.

Applying sunscreen, wearing protective clothing and performing regular skin examinations are just some of the helpful suggestions featured in the guide.

Both guides are free of charge and can be obtained by visiting www. provi
