Our properties are 32,000 acres in Ivanhoe, NSW and 210 acres in Pine Lodge, Victoria.
We have sheep, cattle and cropping.
How long have you been a farmer?
I have lived on the land my whole life. Jared and I bought our first farm 11 years ago at Pine Lodge and six years ago we bought my parents’ farm in Ivanhoe.
Tell us about your family.
My partner Jared Burke is a full-time farmer and we have two kids, Blaine, 15 and Montanna, 9. They are at school in Shepparton.
Best advice or farming tip you have received?
I seem to get different advice every week from so many different people as I work at the saleyards as well.
The best advice is learn from your own mistakes. Describe your perfect day? When everything goes to plan.
What is the best thing about being a farmer?
The lifestyle and raising our kids up on the land, and the peace and quiet.
What is the worst thing about being a farmer?
Having to go mustering in July early in the morning on my motorbike.
If you could be someone else for the day, who would it be and why?
I haven’t really thought about being someone else for a day, but I guess a millionaire because who doesn’t want to be a millionaire?
