NOTHING says family fun like a classic country show, and that is exactly what you will find at this year’s Alexandra Annual Spring Show.
Celebrating 135 years, the event is promising to be bigger and better than ever.
Held on Saturday, November 10, the show will include all those things you would expect to find, such as horse events, various cattle breeds on display, poultry competitions, working dog trials, dairy goat competitions and a meat goat competition.
There is also a new art element in the wool section to encourage people of all ages to be actively involved - the competition is called “Ewe can do it” and is open to all ages and abilities to create a flock of Murrindindi Made Sheep for all to admire.
The Ladies’ Pavilion will be packed full of competition entries including jams, chutneys and preserves, along with cakes, handcraft, woodwork, local produce and everything in between.
The Alexandra Annual Spring Show is one of the few to hold a dairy goat competition, and this year a meat goat competition that will be judged by the crowd on the day.
Of course, if goats don’t tickle your fancy there is also the animal nursery – filled with all manner of baby cuties, from ducklings to chickens, piglets to lambs.
There will be a roving balloonist, lots of free kids’ activities, and the much loved pet parade.
So if you are looking for a fun day out, leave aside November 10 and get along to the 135th Alexandra Annual Spring Show.
PLENTY FOR ALL: There is plenty to see and do at the upcoming Alexandra Spring Show – including live demonstrations from Mansfield’s legendary Stu Bryant.
