RES­I­DENT hosts Alis­tair and Gina Diprose are proud to an­nounce that River­gum Hol­i­day Re­treat has taken a ma­jor step to­wards pro­vid­ing qual­ity eco­tourism ex­pe­ri­ences.

They have been awarded Na­ture Tourism Ac­cred­i­ta­tion through Eco­tourism Aus­tralia.

Na­ture Tourism Ac­cred­i­ta­tion demon­strates their full com­mit­ment to eco­log­i­cal sus­tain­abil­ity, nat­u­ral ar­eas man­age­ment and pro­vi­sion of qual­ity eco­tourism ex­pe­ri­ences with a com­mit­ment to cli­mate change emis­sions re­duc­tion and adap­ta­tion strate­gies.

“This is the first of many steps for us as we em­brace our new ac­cred­i­ta­tion with en­thu­si­asm as de­velop our fa­cil­i­ties and in par­tic­u­lar our Wet­lands Re­serve,” the pair said in a re­cent state­ment.

“We are work­ing with the Mur­ray Dar­ling Wet­lands Group to­wards Ed­u­ca­tional Sig­nage along a new dis­cov­ery trail high­light­ing the many va­ri­eties of birds and wildlife that re­side at River­gum Hol­i­day Re­treat.

“In ad­di­tion, we also have plans to in­cor­po­rate a bush tucker trail.

“This will be­come a won­der­ful re­lax­ing and in­for­ma­tive ex­pe­ri­ence for our guests.

“Devel­op­ing River­gum Hol­i­day Re­treat as an eco­tourism des­ti­na­tion builds on our ex­ist­ing guest fa­cil­i­ties that pro­mote healthy liv­ing in­clud­ing beau­ti­ful Mur­ray River walk­ing paths, 1.5km ex­er­cise trail, well­ness and med­i­ta­tion pack­ages.

“Our aim is to de­light our guests and re­de­fine what it means to visit Corowa, NSW.”
