small state still hides travel secrets

North East Tourist News - - Myrtleford -

AUSTRALIAN Traveller has unearthed a number of “hidden gems” in Victoria, published during autumn in the collector’s edition, “100 amazing places you haven’t been to (yet)”.

The list was compiled by the Australian Traveller team after interviewing hundreds of well-known and well-travelled Australians.

It reveals their favourite secrets, with many surprises.

Former Wallaby turned journalist and proud New South Welshmen Peter FitzSimmons chose Victoria’s High Country gem Beechworth, describing the heritageladen town as “the most beautiful town in Australia”.

“It proves just how many amazing places there are in Australia when Victoria, small by size and large by population, can have so many ‘hidden secrets’.

“Tourism Victoria are so right when they say ‘you will love every piece of Victoria,’” says Australian Traveller founder Quentin Long.
