THERE is plenty to ex­plore in the ruggedly beau­ti­ful Strath­bo­gie Shire re­gion dur­ing win­ter.

You can es­cape the cold at a range of din­ing venues across the district, from cafes to high qual­ity restau­rant din­ing.

Lo­cal events also con­tinue dur­ing win­ter, in­clud­ing the many pop­u­lar mar­kets that are en­joyed by lo­cals and vis­i­tors alike.

June 13 sees the Vi­o­let Town com­mu­nity mar­ket at the town’s recre­ational re­serve (also held on July 11 and Au­gust 8), while you can pick up some lo­cally grown fresh pro­duce on Satur­day, June 20 at the Euroa Vil­lage Farm­ers Mar­ket (also held on July 18 and Au­gust 15).

On Satur­day, July 4, the Nagam­bie Lakes com­mu­nity mar­ket will be held at Ja­cob­son’s Out­look in Nagam­bie (also on Au­gust 1 and Septem­ber 5).

Mar­kets are also held in Avenel on the sec­ond Sun­day of each month and in Euroa on the third Satur­day of each month.

Car lovers should mark Septem­ber 19-20 in their di­aries, with the Cranksters Hot Road Car Show set to take place on that date.
