Winter music festival returns to Beechworth
THE town of Beechworth comes alive every August to the sounds of banjos, mandolins, fiddles and and guitars as the Kelly Country Pick, an annual Bluegrass and Old Timey music festival returns from August 21-23.
Now in its 17th year, what began as a small gathering of musical friends has developed into a music festival which draws musicians and lovers of acoustic music from all over the country.
Events now take place in four iconic Beechworth venues over the weekend – the Old Priory, the Bridge Rd Brewery, and the Hibernian and Nicholas Hotels.
Patrons can buy a variety of tickets to suit their needs – from weekend passes to individual concert or workshop tickets.
The Kelly Country Pick presents a jam packed weekend of concerts, workshops, open mic sessions and jamming opportunities for musicians of all levels.
Come along and enjoy the atmosphere in historic Beechworth this winter – cosy open fires, wine and dine with friends and be entertained by some of Australia’s finest string players.
Or get involved – go to a workshop, volunteer for a free weekend ticket, or join in the Sunday morning gospel singing in the Priory garden.
There is something for everyone.
