Big race day at Dederang
ENJOY a family day at the races, when the Dederang Picnic Races are held in the picturesque country town on Saturday, January 2.
The Dederang Race Club was established in 1865 and holds its annual meeting on the first Saturday in January.
There will be a six race program with prize monies totalling $16,200 plus trophies.
There are plenty of bookmakers and an on-course TAB covering local and interstate races.
Through the efforts of local volunteers, the Dederang Races have become one of the premier picnic race meetings in Victoria, attracting huge crowds and raising thousands of dollars for charity and the local community.
Visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy an action packed day of fun and fashion.
There are fabulous food options, bars and entertainment for adults and children alike.
Marquee packages with a variety of catering options are available for groups of friends, family or corporate guests.
Dress up in your best race wear for the “Fashions on the Field” competition or gather friends and join in on the famous “Tug of War”.
For speedsters of all ages, the Madman’s Mile is run around the track at the end of the day and provides a great spectacle for all.
The 2016 Dederang Picnic Races will be held on January 2 at the Dederang Race Course, Kiewa Valley Highway in Dederang.
