Big race day at Ded­erang

EN­JOY a fam­ily day at the races, when the Ded­erang Pic­nic Races are held in the pic­turesque coun­try town on Satur­day, Jan­uary 2.

The Ded­erang Race Club was es­tab­lished in 1865 and holds its an­nual meet­ing on the first Satur­day in Jan­uary.

There will be a six race pro­gram with prize monies to­talling $16,200 plus tro­phies.

There are plenty of book­mak­ers and an on-course TAB cov­er­ing lo­cal and in­ter­state races.

Through the ef­forts of lo­cal vol­un­teers, the Ded­erang Races have be­come one of the premier pic­nic race meet­ings in Vic­to­ria, at­tract­ing huge crowds and rais­ing thou­sands of dol­lars for char­ity and the lo­cal com­mu­nity.

Vis­i­tors of all ages are in­vited to en­joy an ac­tion packed day of fun and fash­ion.

There are fab­u­lous food op­tions, bars and en­ter­tain­ment for adults and chil­dren alike.

Mar­quee pack­ages with a va­ri­ety of cater­ing op­tions are avail­able for groups of friends, fam­ily or cor­po­rate guests.

Dress up in your best race wear for the “Fash­ions on the Field” competition or gather friends and join in on the fa­mous “Tug of War”.

For speed­sters of all ages, the Mad­man’s Mile is run around the track at the end of the day and pro­vides a great spec­ta­cle for all.

The 2016 Ded­erang Pic­nic Races will be held on Jan­uary 2 at the Ded­erang Race Course, Kiewa Val­ley High­way in Ded­erang.

OFF AND RAC­ING: Riders are look­ing for­ward to an ac­tion packed day of com­pet­i­tive rac­ing at Ded­erang in Jan­uary.
