130th Tolmie Sports Day

TOLMIE Sports will hap­pen again on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 13.

There will be the ever pop­u­lar wood­chop and eques­trian events, Trixie the Clown and face paint­ing for the kids, all the nov­elty and foot races, egg, gum­boot and sheaf toss­ing com­pe­ti­tions, dog jump and the premier event of the day, the Three Man Chal­lenge.

This year will see a revamped Three Man Chal­lenge with the re­turn of a horse and rider leg. The event will oc­cur ear­lier in the day and the for­mat has had a ma­jor re­vamp, so the sur­prise will not be spoiled with too many de­tails, but be pre­pared to be amazed, ex­cited and thrilled by this unique event.

His­tor­i­cal dis­plays will in­clude the work­ing black­smith Jack Smith, the Warby Steam En­gine dis­play, Old Fergie trac­tors and Bob’s Cu­rios­ity Hut.

Take time out at the food and drink precinct un­der the beau­ti­ful old eu­ca­lypts. Ta­bles and chairs will be avail­able for pa­trons to sit, eat, drink and soak up the at­mos­phere.

If you still have some en­ergy af­ter this ac­tion packed day, the tra­di­tional Bush Dance will be held in the Tolmie Hall start­ing at 7.30pm.

HOP ALONG: Sack races are part of the fun at the an­nual Tolmie Sports Day.
