Ride ‘em bronco at rodeo
THE Merrijig Rodeo is the highlight of the High Country calendar
Dust off your hats, shine up those boots and get that belt buckle ready – the Merrijig Rodeo is nearly here, and it is promising to be the best one yet.
The Merrijig Rodeo is part of the APRA tri-series championship that incorporates the Kyabram, Mansfield and Chiltern rodeos across the Labour Day long weekend, and it doesn’t matter if you choose to visit one or all three - a great time is guaranteed at each.
Running on Saturday night, March 12, the Merrijig Rodeo gates will open at 3pm with the main events kicking off at 6.30pm.
There is something for everyone, with kids activities, sideshow alley, licensed bar and food stalls, and that’s just on the side lines.
In the main arena there will be barrel races, steer wrestling, bareback bronc riders, clowns and of course, the main event bull ride and locals steer ride.
Entry is just $30 per adult, with all children under 18 free but they must be accompanied by an adult.

BARRELS AND BRONCS: The Merrijig Rodeo is on again this Labour Day long weekend, and there is something for the whole family on offer, from bull rides to barrel races, carnival rides to calf roping.
