New lease on life for Yea’s Gallery 34

“IT’S hard to be­lieve that Gallery 34 has been un­der new man­age­ment for six months al­ready,” said David Bates, who runs the gallery in the heart of Yea’s High Street.

“And what a trans­for­ma­tion has oc­curred.

“Most of the walls have been re­painted to high­light the art bet­ter, new door­ways have been placed, all new dis­play cab­i­netry has been brought in and the op­tions on of­fer have mul­ti­plied ten­fold”

Mr Bates said that there was a wide range of creative pieces avail­able for pur­chase at Gallery 34, and rec­om­mended vis­i­tors come in and pe­ruse all that there is to of­fer.

He said that the gallery has jew­ellery from Mari­posa Magic (Michelle Ste­wart), Jac­quie Camp­bell, Su­san Blaschko, Leigh Car­bines and Tom Marik.

There is also wood­work from Colin Par­ton, Clive Bullen and Bob Eus­tace, metal sculp­tures from Dar­ren Gil­bert and soon Tim Read, silk scarves, and even glass creations by Rob Hay­ley and Peter Toyne.

Those who en­joy ce­ram­ics can see pieces from Tony Broadley and Moun­tain Clay De­signs (Yvette De Lacy), just to name a few.

“The list keeps grow­ing,” Mr Bates said.
