New lease on life for Yea’s Gallery 34
“IT’S hard to believe that Gallery 34 has been under new management for six months already,” said David Bates, who runs the gallery in the heart of Yea’s High Street.
“And what a transformation has occurred.
“Most of the walls have been repainted to highlight the art better, new doorways have been placed, all new display cabinetry has been brought in and the options on offer have multiplied tenfold”
Mr Bates said that there was a wide range of creative pieces available for purchase at Gallery 34, and recommended visitors come in and peruse all that there is to offer.
He said that the gallery has jewellery from Mariposa Magic (Michelle Stewart), Jacquie Campbell, Susan Blaschko, Leigh Carbines and Tom Marik.
There is also woodwork from Colin Parton, Clive Bullen and Bob Eustace, metal sculptures from Darren Gilbert and soon Tim Read, silk scarves, and even glass creations by Rob Hayley and Peter Toyne.
Those who enjoy ceramics can see pieces from Tony Broadley and Mountain Clay Designs (Yvette De Lacy), just to name a few.
“The list keeps growing,” Mr Bates said.
“So far, we have exhibited Jo Junor, Kerrie Gerlach, Laurence Cummin, Catherine Stewart, Darren Gilbert, Janet Matthews and Glen Saunders. “Wow, what a six months it’s been. “Just wait till you see what’s in store for the rest of the year. “We’ve only just begun” Gallery 34 is located at 34 High Street, Yea, and more information is available on the website on www. gallery34.com.au or via social media at www.facebook.com/gallery34yea.
