Beechworth Golden Horseshoes Festival is gearing up for 2016
BEECHWORTH’S huge annual Easter celebration, the Golden Horseshoes Festival, is set to be bigger than ever in 2016.
The event is being held from Good Friday on March 25 until Easter Monday on March 28.
The festival committee is already planning a fresh line up of local acts and activities for the festival.
Chair Ian McVea is looking forward to the event and encourages those within the community who wish to become involved in this major event to register their interest through the Beechworth Newsagency.
“We have a great variety of activities planned for this year’s festival with car displays, live music, children’s activities, Easter egg hunt and the main event being the Grand Parade on Saturday,” Ian said.
Entries for the Grand Parade have started to come in with the theme for this year’s parade being Music and Fun.
The floats are a highlight to the day with the reenactment of political aspirant Daniel Cameron’s march through town on a horse shod with gold leading the procession.
Festival information, application forms for sponsorship, stall holders, entrants in the Grand Parade, busking and volunteering are all available on the festival website, www.beechworthgoldenhorseshoes.com.au.
