Retreat to the lake side at Willowlake

North East Tourist News - - Mansfield & District - By RHYLL McCORMACK

LIKE an oasis rising out of the desert, Willowlake is an accommodation and function centre set among lush gardens at Macs Cove.

Purchased by Anne-Maree Boltong and her family back in 2006, the gorgeous cottages and weatherboard retreat immediately stole her heart.

“We were looking for something to buy, a business, and I drove into the drive and said – I don’t care about anything else, I love it,” Mrs Bolton said.

Boasting a large restaurant with seating for up to 80, complete with cathedral ceilings, open fireplace and country charm, Willowlake also has a state of the art commercial kitchen and full bar facilities, along with an intimate dining room for smaller guest numbers.

Outside, set among the beautiful gardens and creeping wisteria vines, are four romantic cottages – each boasting a charming wood fire, double spa bath, queen bed and futon couch, along with barbecue and basic kitchen facilities.

Each cottage has views that are unique, whether it be looking across the vast expanse of Lake Eildon, into the nearby state forest or peeping out of the windows to the lush garden.

“It’s a charming place to come and just relax,” Anne-Maree said. “The atmosphere here is unique.” Willowlake is able to host weddings, birthdays, end of year functions and everything in between.

They are also open for accommodation each night of the week, and are a genuine 4-Star rated property.

OASIS: Willowlake offers the best in country charm, with its soaring cathedral ceilings, lush garden setting and state-of-the-art reception areas. Pictured is Anne-Maree Bolton.
