GAPSTED WINES, a four star-rated winery just minutes from Myrtleford, has a smorgasbord of events scheduled for this spring.

With picturesque views across the Ovens Valley, Gapsted Wines’ cellar door is open daily from 10am to 5pm and offers guests a relaxed tasting experience.

Whether you’re a wine novice or seasoned connoisseur, the staff are adept at relating their range of wines to your tastes and budget.

The most enjoyable way to experience our wines is to have them at their award-winning restaurant, where the experienced chef serves up a seasonal menu with each item matched to one of Gapsted’s delightful wines.

Where possible, ingredients are sourced from growers in the local area, delivering a true culinary treat from the Alpine Valleys region.

As the weather warms this spring so too does the events calendar.

Gapsted’s Long Lunch – held on September 17 or 18 – is just that, an opportunity to put aside the best part of an afternoon at their award-winning restaurant to savour some of the region’s finest food and wines (bookings are highly recommended).

October means the renowned Pre-Holiday Sale, which sees shopping trolleys jostle for fantastic bargains on quality wines.

Scheduled for October 29-30, it’s the perfect opportunity to taste a wider variety of wines and stock your wine cellar for the festive season.

If you enjoy a relaxing afternoon spent savouring fine food, wine and music then October and November are great months to visit, with musicians such as Claire & Co, Tree of Strings, Kevin Haggerty and Freya Hanley performing on various weekends.

You’ll find Gapsted just minutes by car from Beechworth and Myrtleford, and they are only a few hundred metres from the Snow Road turnoff to Melbourne on the Great Alpine Road.

Gapsted is also located on the popular Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, which means we’re easily reached by bicycle.

There are racks for you to store your bikes, and they can also arrange to deliver any wines you purchase at the Cellar Door.
