Pair face violence charges
A male and female charged with family violence offences over an incident in South Hedland last year appeared in court last week.
It is understood the female, 32, and male, 42, who had been together for four-years, engaged in an alcoholfuelled argument at the Two-Mile Camp in South Hedland in November.
Police alleged one partner splashed hot oil onto the other while cooking, and in response, the other partner picked up a knife, stabbing themselves and the other party in the leg.
South Hedland Senior Sergeant Allan Jane said police had a zero-tolerance approach to family violence.
“Police will intervene to ensure the safety of all members of the community, especially those that can’t look after themselves, such as children.”
The pair are yet to be sentenced.
