Fight­ers put on a suc­cess­ful show

Box­ing en­thu­si­asts from all over the Pil­bara trav­elled to Whim Creek Ho­tel re­cently to sup­port the Unit 2 box­ing fight night.

The event, hosted on Satur­day, August 19 was sanc­tioned by Box­ing WA and in­cluded eight bouts of box­ing, five fights, and three ex­hi­bi­tion matches.

Pro­fes­sional boxer Danny Green was among the crowd of spec­ta­tors who watched the highly skilled box­ers from Wick­ham, Port Hed­land, and Perth put on a great ex­hi­bi­tion of skills and abil­i­ties.

Be­cause of the event’s suc­cess, or­gan­is­ers are con­sid­er­ing mak­ing the com­pe­ti­tion an an­nual event and are en­cour­ag­ing more peo­ple to be­come in­volved.

Or­gan­is­ers said they were grate­ful to the Whim Creek Ho­tel, Box­ing WA, the spon­sors who sup­ported the event, the coaches, fight­ers and Green.

There are clubs in Port Hed­land, Kar­ratha, Wick­ham, Broome and New­man.
