Truckie faces death crash case

A road train driver has ap­peared in South Hed­land Mag­is­trate’s Court in re­la­tion to the death of two trav­ellers in June this year.

Kim­berly Thomas De Pledge, 47, was charged with two counts of dan­ger­ous driv­ing caus­ing death and three counts of dan­ger­ous driv­ing caus­ing bod­ily harm in June af­ter he al­legedly hit the back of a car­a­van, forc­ing it onto the wrong side of the road and into the path of an on­com­ing Toy­ota Prado.

Mr De Pledge ap­peared in court on Mon­day, and did not en­ter a plea, but will face the mag­is­trate again on Jan­uary 15. His bail was also ex­tended un­til Jan­uary.

The case will be held in the Dis­trict Court once a plea is en­tered.
