North West Telegraph - - Telegraph News - Taylar Amonini

New policies restricting the transportation of firearms in the State have sparked anger in regional WA after it was discovered only 11 carriers have been approved for transportation.

Under a new policy implemented by WA Police, Australia Post is no longer approved to transport firearms in WA and only one transport organisation travels to and from the Pilbara.

Outraged by the lack of consideration for the regions, Pilbara gun owners have begun writing letters to the Police Minister, lobbying for change.

Harvey King Firearms owner Peter Nicholls has urged locals to assist licence owners and would happily assist anyone in writing a letter to relevant ministers.

To find out more information, and assist gun owners, Mr Nicholls said people could contact him at his shop on Edgar Street or call him on 9173 4825.
