Drivers caught in police sting
Port and South Hedland police have issued a stern warning to drivers after an increase in drink-driving offences.
Police have warned they will be on high alert, targeting alcohol-related issues and helping minimise community harm.
As a result of an action plan into addressing drink-driving, extra patrols were out in force over a weeklong period this month.
The operation resulted in three drivers charged with driving under the influence, four drivers caught with a blood alcohol content of 0.08, and two drivers caught driving with a blood alcohol in excess of 0.05.
Police say increased patrols will be ongoing in a bid to reduce harm.
