The third week of water polo kicked off on Friday night with some close games and unquestionable wins.

Starting the night off saw Orcas take on Piranhas, with the former playing their most consistent game yet and scoring two goals per quarter.

With a final score of 8-4, Orcas could not keep up with the Piranhas structure.

Erin Brierly and Alexandra Motus ended the game as best players for Piranhas and Katheryn Fisher doing the Orcas proud.

The first men’s game saw the White Pointers take on Dragons, and with no Steve Smirke Pointers managed to come out with a win.

White Pointers proved too strong and drowned the Dragons 8-4.

Noel Morrison was the sole goal scorer for the Dragons, while Jared Ahlers, Bradley Horseman and Brad Pawlenko were the high scorers for White Pointers.

The second women’s game of the night saw a tight affair between Aztecs and Vipers.

A slow start from the Vipers saw Aztecs scoring three goals in the first quarter making the game look like a wipe-out, however, they came back with a vengeance in the second half.

The Mellberg sisters shone with Tara scoring four and Tess scoring three.

To end the night Blackstars drowned the composite team, finishing with a win of 6-2.

It was not the best game this week for the composite team as they missed shots and spent a lot of the night swimming.

Blackstars’ Reece Cirulis and Ethan Smith pocketed a goal each while Nathan Groch and Brad Horseman of the composite team were the leading goal scorers for the side.
