Charges laid after out-of-control party
South Hedland police arrested two people for alleged disorderly behaviour and refusing to leave the premises during an out-ofcontrol party on Limpet Crescent in the early hours of last Saturday morning.
A noise complaint was received and police spokesman Paul Thomas said officers were called about 1.40am to attend the scene.
Officers then called for backup after being confronted by a hostile crowd of about 40 people.
The decision was made to shut down the party for the safety of the police officers as they deployed riot gear and shields.
Partygoers were eventually dispersed and police allege rocks and bottles were thrown at officers. Two people are due to face court.
The home owner and part host has also been questioned by police.
