Considering this studio flash kit costs less than some regular flashguns, you get quite a lot for your money.

In the box are two 150Ws flash heads with a pair of lighting stands, a 60cm softbox, a 90cm translucent umbrella, two reflectors and all the cables you need. The complete kit is quite lightweight at 9.3kg, but there’s no carrying bag.

With a GN 32 (Guide number in metres at ISO100) power rating, similar to the Elinchrom RX One heads, maximum power is a little lacking. The overall power range, nominally of four stops, enabled apertures of f/2 to f/9 in our tests using a translucent umbrella with a single flash head positioned two metres from the target – that’s four and a third stops. Build quality feels pretty fragile in the heads and stands, however.
