£400, $600terfitphoto

Compared with the Interfit EX150 kit above, this one has a lot more going for it. The 400W/s heads are much more powerful, delivering an excellent range of f/3.6 to f/18 (that’s four and two-thirds stops) in our tests, with relatively advanced controls.

Power adjustments are available via push-button switches, in 1/10th of an f-stop increments with a digital display. Cooling fans are fitted but, unlike in the Elinchrom heads, there’s no heat-sensing function. The fans run all the time, and they’re a little noisy.

Other similarities to the Elinchrom kits include wireless RF triggering and smart slave modes. The latter enables you to use a regular flashgun as a master, the heads ignoring any pre-flash pulses. The two large 100cm softboxes included in this kit are particularly good.
