Combine objects in the fra me
Add layers of meaning by juxtaposing subjects
hotograph someone or something on its own, and you will have a picture of what your subject looks like. Add a significant object or person, though, and you can set up connections and levels of meaning. At its simplest level, this might be controlling the background to give a context. So, if you like photographing funny signs, show some background to say why it is funny in the same image. You should never have to explain what is remarkable about a subject, you should have photographed it. One of the most effective ways to do this is to vary your angle: walk around the subject and you can photograph it with a different background, or bring two objects closer together in the frame.
