Very pre­cise fo­cus­ing is re­quired in macro shoot­ing, due to the tiny depth of field de­liv­ered by the lens. Con­trast AF in Live View mode works well, and by­passes any need for fine-tun­ing aut­o­fo­cus for spe­cific lenses.

Use a flash

The ex­tremely short du­ra­tion of the pulse of light from a flash­gun can help to freeze mo­tion more ef­fec­tively, and there­fore min­imises the ef­fects of cam­era shake.
