This is where the end of the im­age his­togram is cut off. If this hap­pens at the left end it means shadow ar­eas will come out a solid black. If it hap­pens at the right end, high­lights are ‘blown’ and will come out a solid white.

Ex­po­sure Com­pens ation

Man­u­ally shift­ing the ex­po­sure away from the cam­era’s set­ting to make it darker or lighter.
