Dry vs wet
It’s possible to get tiny spots of lubricant on the sensor from the action of the shutter mechanism. This can look like dust in your shots but removing it needs a different approach and you’ll probably need to resort to the traditional ‘wet cleaning’ process with a sensor swab. This is a soft, absorbent paddle that’s made and packaged in a dust-free environment. They come in both DX and FX widths, so you’ll need to use the right size for your sensor. You unwrap it just before use, then add a couple of drops of sensor-cleaning fluid and drag it lightly across the sensor surface in one single movement.
