Testing the bags
We tried the bags with a range of kit, and on a range of bodies, to see how they performed
We tested the quality of construction for each backpack, checking robustness as well as the ease of use and security of all zips and other fasteners. We also checked that the range of adjustments enabled a comfortable fit for photographers with small, medium and large builds, including the use of all additional chest and waist straps, where featured. We paid particular attention to the main camera compartments to ensure they were well padded and offered good protection from bumps and knocks. Speed and ease of access to kit was gauged, and we tested all additional features such as tripod fasteners, extra pockets and memory card organisers. The total number of cameras, lenses and other photo accessories that can be fitted inside when using all the supplied dividers is shown in our comparison table on the final pages.
