An ultra-cheap video tripod that does exactly what you need it to – with no frills or fancy features
You can spend a great deal of time and money trying to find the perfect tripod, and while the FT-750 might not be at the top of everyone’s wish
list, it is great value for money. Standing at a maximum height of 61 inches and able to carry a very reasonable four kilograms it’s a great option for Nikon D3000-series and Nikon 1 owners.
The three-section legs pack down to 25.2 inches and the whole thing weighs just over one and a half kilograms, so it’s pretty easy to carry. The simple video head sits on top of an extendable ratchet, which is used to adjust the height precisely. The legs are all secured using quick release clips that are neat, easy to release, and hold the legs firm.
The materials used are no-frills, and while this is apparent the build seems solid enough to create a stable base. There’s also a bag hook at the bottom of the central column so that you can add extra weight to stabilise things if needed. It might not stand up to professional use but for the average enthusiast it should be more than adequate.
