Sarah prefers shoot­ing with a very wide aper­ture set­ting to soften the back­ground and give her images that dreamy ap­peal. She finds primes par­tic­u­larly good for this, as they’re usu­ally able to open wider than a zoom lens. But shoot­ing at such a wide aper­ture set­ting means Sarah has to be spot-on with her fo­cus­ing. Eyes are the most im­por­tant el­e­ment to keep sharp, while ev­ery­thing else can soften and blur.
