With this im­age I com­bined what I’d learned with the first two to shoot a sim­ple but ef­fec­tive com­po­si­tion. With my Nikon set to 10mm, Jayne en­cour­aged me to get down re­ally low, and ‘right on top’ of the fore­ground rock to make it the fo­cal point; although it doesn’t look like it, it was only a few feet away from the front of the lens. The shut­ter speed was slightly faster than for my pre­vi­ous shots, which has left some de­tail in the wave rush­ing back out, while blur­ring the fastest­mov­ing white wa­ter. I took dozens of frames, of which only a few worked, but this was my favourite.
