The shutter is the part of your camera’s body that opens and closes to let light through to the sensor. Shutter speed is measured in seconds and fractions of a second. When you slow your camera’s shutter speed to below 1/60 sec you’ll need to mount your camera to a tripod. If you don’t, your image will appeared blurred. You can experiment using slow shutter speeds on your tripod to get different effects.
