Nigel says… Like com­pet­ing high­lights (see page 13), high­lights at the edges of the frame can be a dis­trac­tion, lead­ing the viewer’s eye out of the frame – this is es­pe­cially true if the high­lights are at the base of the frame [see right]. Try to avoid bright high­lights leak­ing off the frame like this, and make the most of darker tones along the bot­tom edge to give your im­age a stronger base.
