OUR APPRENTICE SAYS…

NPhoto - - The Photo Apprentice -

We worked with two families during the day, starting with a family of four. It was a classic British seaside setting and Kate immediately spotted the potential in locations that offered some shelter from the sun, including under a pier. Kate explained how this soft, even lighting would offer more flattering results. However, as the light levels were lower we had to make sure our shutter speeds were fast enough to give sharp results. I had to work with the largest aperture available on my 70-300mm lens. Kate explained that even then, I would need to be prepared to increase the ISO higher than I normally would.
