Here’s a small DIY idea. I wanted to get a simple hand strap for my D5300 so that I can relax when holding my camera, but I wanted to avoid adding parts that would get in my way – for instance when I put my camera on a tripod. I therefore decided to use the neck strap supplied with the camera, so that it can ALSO be used as a hand strap. A piece of black plastic sheet (1.5mm thick), cut into a U shape so that it fits on the tripod baseplate that I always keep on the camera, allows me to transform the neck strap into a hand strap in the twinkle of an eye!
