National Geographic Walkabout Medium Backpack £140, $218
If you fancy a bag with more traditional styling, National Geographic’s Walkabout daypack could be just the ticket, plus its square design maximises storage space in the upper portion.
With the Medium version you’ll have room for a 15.4-inch laptop, along with your Nikon and up to four extra lenses. However, as with many camera daypacks, the Walkabout’s somewhat shallow depth makes it best suited to carrying shorter lenses. Another slight drawback is the front-opening design of the camera compartment, which rules out access on the move.
On the upside, you get plenty of accessory storage and scope for carrying two tripods. The bag also converts into a standard backpack, plus there’s a strap to secure it to the handle of a rolling suitcase.
The Walkabout’s casual look is ideal if you’re after a bag that doesn’t shout about its contents
