Where to shoot
Research your subject before you head out. Find out where the animals you’d like to photograph can be seen, and at what time of day and the season they are most active. Early mornings are often a good time for deer as not only are the animals out more, but there’s beautiful golden light. Parks are great as the animals there will be more accustomed to visitors, but don’t get too close and disturb the creatures – photographers in Richmond Park, in London, were accused of putting deer off mating this autumn.
