Nest Traveller NT-6264CK £250, $385
We’ve been impressed with Nest tripods in the past, and this travel-orientated model is no exception. Its 150cm fullyextended height, 41.5cm closed length and 1.49 kilograms weight are all pretty average, but a huge 15 kilograms payload rating certainly isn’t, and makes this the most robust support here. However, that figure only applies to the eight-layer carbon-fibre legs – the head is rated at 10 kilograms.
The head doesn’t feel like it’s letting the side down, though, with precision aluminium construction that oozes quality, plus there’s adjustable friction and an independently-lockable pan base.
As with the Benro and MeFOTO, one of the legs can be converted to a monopod, and it also boasts two-stage leg-angle adjustment and ergonomic twist-grip leg locks. Pros Superb quality, yet fairly compact. Removable monopod. Cons Not especially small or light for travelling. We say A great all-rounder; strong without being a burden.
These legs can carry a lot!
