Print­ing in black and white

If your photo printer has grey ink car­tridges, it should be able to pro­duce ex­cel­lent neu­tral mono­chrome prints

Canon and oth­ers

Make sure the im­age you’re go­ing to print is set to grayscale: go to Im­age>Mode>Grayscale.

Click File>Print and make sure Printer Man­ages Colours is se­lected.

There is noth­ing unique to set for print­ing in mono­chrome on Canon and most other printer driv­ers.

Go to Step 11 of our main walk­through and the printer driver will do the rest for you.

It doesn’t mat­ter if your im­age is grayscale or colour, you can print it as mono­chrome ei­ther way.

Click File>Print and make sure that Printer Man­ages Colours is se­lected.

In the printer driver, make sure you set En­hanced Black and White; you may also choose Warm or Cool Tone print.

Go to Step 12 of our main walk­through and the driver will sort out the rest for you.
