Andy says… “I pre­fer Con­tin­uos Aut­o­fo­cus for all my pho­tog­ra­phy. With AF-C mode the cam­era is con­tin­u­ally fo­cus­ing, which speeds up the time be­tween press­ing the shut­ter and im­age cap­ture (shut­ter lag). Even though this has a slight dis­ad­van­tage (the cam­era will take a pic­ture when the im­age is slightly out of fo­cus), it’s worth per­se­ver­ing as the gain in speed out­weighs the mis­takes. Sin­gle-servo AF (AF-S) is only ac­ti­vated af­ter you’ve pressed the shut­ter and stops as soon as the fo­cus is locked on to the sub­ject. The dis­ad­van­tage is that a fast-mov­ing sub­ject will have moved be­tween lock-on and cap­ture.”
